About Ulyana Turchenko
The artist works in the techniques of stone lithography, painting, and drawing. Her creations are executed in the style of Symbolism and Fantastic Realism, enriched with surreal motifs. The fantastical world of her works is multi-faceted thanks to the skillful use of symbols and signs. A bold combination of mythological and real-world imagery gives her pieces profound meaning and a poetic tone that enchants and gently leads us into a realm of lucid dreams.
In her compositions, figures, animals, and plants intertwine and often transform into one another, imparting philosophical significance. The interplay of bright, open colors with subdued shades of black creates the illusion that the images and objects within the paintings appear and disappear before the viewer’s eyes.
Ulyana’s works are like a magical book that, each time it is opened, tells a new story. People, gods, and mystical creatures guide us through unknown worlds where one can wander endlessly. It is a world where nothing is impossible.
